The PESTO℠ simulation service provides a simplified online interface to a full-featured
hybridized SPICE simulation of basic ESD/EOS protection devices
interacting with rudimentary circuit board parasitics and the devices
they are intended to protect.
Since no actual protection device provides infinite conductance to ground, some residual current pulse will travel past the TVS device and into the ASIC. 
If this residual pulse exceeds the robustness of the ASIC I/O, then the ASIC may fail even though the TVS device performed entirely to specification.PESTO℠ device models allow for multiple ASIC and TVS failure modes with varying ESD pulse types applied.
